Meet our friends at Spark Journals. They've created this amazing hard cover journal just for kids. It's been a labour of love and years in the making.
Created and founded by Jenn Wu, mom of 2, this journal is filled with hours of activities to train our kids' brains towards a positive mindset, at a formative age.
Jenn and her team researched the best strategies in positive psychology, and combined their findings to build their own journaling practice in their homes, which became the inspiration behind Spark Journals.
Encourage a growth mindset for kids
Kids can be given a great start in life, no matter what circumstance they're in. They just need to have the right tools and the right guidance to encourage them to grow into the best version of themselves.
As an adult, I journal a lot. In my journal is where I write down my big goals and let my imagination run wild with possibilities. It helps me visualize my life the way I want it. Journaling doesn't have to be for adults only. In fact, getting kids started with journaling early in life provides an outlet to navigate through their emotions and helps them develop the habits of positive thinking and anything is possible mindset.
Writing in a journal might seem like a simple step but it is a powerful one. Spark Journals created this journal for kids so that we can shape our own mindset as parents, and instill the belief in our kids that we can shape our life the way we want to.
A toolbox to create a positive mindset in kids
This journal for kids is filled with fun activities that encourages mindfulness at the same time.
The exercises in the journal are fun and engaging for kids. While they are colouring, drawing and writing, their subconscious is working to absorb all of the happy and positive emotions they experience.
You'll be surprised at what a few minutes of journaling can do for your kids' mental health, self-regulation and well being.
Every kid is unique and that's what makes them special. This journal for kids has activities to help them identify what it is that makes them special, their "super power" if you will. Every kid wants to be spider-man, right? Maybe not, but I know my kids do.
Being able to identify their super power helps to build self-confidence and feel empowered to contribute to the world in an impactful way.
Gratitude at an early age
When we are grateful for what we have, life becomes much better. I practice gratitude with my 6 and 4-year old kids every night before bed.
The beautiful thing about practicing gratitude with your kids is that they really do appreciate the little things in life. It's amazing to hear what they are grateful for every day.
Spark Journals includes activities that help kids notice the good around them and encourages them to write down what they feel.
A great gift for kids
Spark Journals make a great gift for kids. I don't know about how any other parent feels, but I feel that my kids have too many unnecessary toys. In fact, I have banned more toys from coming into our home.
If you're looking for a unique and thoughtful gift for your niece, nephew or your friend's kids, consider buying a Spark Journal instead of a toy.
