Are you looking to spice up your home? Having an original acrylic abstract painting might be just the artwork you're looking for. Artist Emma Boghossian uses texture, dimension, and colour as the basis of her original artwork.
The use of varying elements and concepts contributes to each of her contemporary abstract designs. Each canvas is bold but also brings meaning that takes the viewer into the painting where they can make new and unexpected insights.
The creative process
Emma began her semi-professional artistic journey as a child after winning an UNICEF illustration competition, followed by a series of “Big World Little Artists” TV show appearances, art exhibitions in Iran, France and Canada, fabric and surface design, and most recently children’s book illustrations.
Her painting process often begin with a faint idea, a brush in hand, and many different shades of red colours on her palette. Hours, and days later, after applying and taking away layers of acrylic paints, polymer mediums, and collage on canvas, a painting is formed.
She is inspired by her deep endless desire to constantly create, along with the feeling of being present in creative bliss. Emma’s abstract paintings are non-representational, constructed of many layers and may include texture medium, glazes, and washes in vibrant colours.
The Sorkh Collection - Acrylic Abstract Painting
In her current collection “Sorkh” (Red in Persian), Emma incorporates the spirit and the aesthetic of Persian calligraphy in her compositions, which manifest the complementary forces of structure and instinct through layers of abstract art.
Each mark and gesture builds toward what could be read as symbols, forms, and patterns.
